ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Effective date: 1 January 2026

At Diversity Does, accessibility is not an afterthought - it is foundational.

This website is designed and maintained by Maisie Cass, informed by neurodiversity-affirming practice, lived experience, and professional insight. The aim is to create a digital space that feels clear, calm, and usable for as many people as possible.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and this statement outlines the considerations taken so far, alongside a commitment to continuous improvement.

Our approach to accessibility

We recognise that accessibility looks different for different people. This includes (but is not limited to) individuals who are:

- neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, OCD)

- living with anxiety, fatigue, or sensory sensitivity

- using assistive technologies

- accessing content in busy, high-demand contexts

Our intention is to reduce unnecessary cognitive load and sensory overwhelm wherever possible.

Design choices made with accessibility in mind

Colour & contrast.

A muted, low-contrast colour palette has been chosen to reduce visual strain.

Text and background colours aim to meet recommended contrast standards.

Large blocks of bright or overly saturated colour are avoided.

Fonts & readability

Clear, sans-serif fonts are used for improved readability.

Font sizes are chosen to support comfortable reading across devices.

Line spacing and paragraph breaks are used intentionally to support processing.

Layout & structure

Pages are structured with clear headings and logical flow.

Content is broken into manageable sections rather than dense blocks of text.

Consistent navigation is used throughout the site.

Language & content

Plain English is prioritised over jargon wherever possible.

Content aims to be clear, direct, and compassionate.

Where topics are complex, information is broken down step-by-step.

Neurodiversity-affirming considerations

As a neurodiversity-led business, particular care has been taken to:

- minimise unnecessary pop-ups or visual distractions

- avoid auto-playing audio or video

- support predictable layouts and consistent design patterns

- offer information in a way that respects different processing styles

Assistive technologies & compatibility

This website is designed to be compatible with:

- screen readers

- keyboard navigation

- browser zoom and text resizing

We aim to follow recognised accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 (Level AA), where reasonably practicable for a small business website.

Alternative formats & adjustments

If you experience any barriers when using this website, or if you would benefit from information being provided in an alternative format, please let us know.

We welcome feedback and are happy to:

- provide information in a different format

- clarify or simplify content

- consider reasonable adjustments where possible

Continuous improvement

Accessibility is not static. This website will continue to evolve as:

- content is updated

- services expand

- feedback is received

This statement will be reviewed periodically to reflect improvements and changes.
