Sometimes we all need a little support...

Raising children has never been as physically exhausting or emotionally draining as it is today. But if you are raising a neurodivergent child - who is autistic or has ADHD - the additional challenges that are faced can push parents to breaking point - especially if they are neurodivergent too.

Maisie has worked with hundreds of families who, when they first meet, felt lost, alone and completely overwhelmed by every day life.

But with Maisie's expertise, families are able to better understand their neurodivergent minds, create an intentionally neurodivergent friendly way of life and have the confidence to take back control and advocate for their child's needs.

Whether you are in need of some short term guidance, a longer term plan or a troubleshooting session, together, Maisie will support you to take the first steps to a place of calm, happy and back in control.

who's looking after the parents?"

Why Traditional Parenting Approaches Don’t Work for Neurodivergent Families

So much of what we’ve been taught about “good parenting” is based on neurotypical development - on children who respond to rewards, consequences, routines, and social norms in predictable ways. But when you're raising a neurodivergent child, those approaches often don’t just fall short - they can actually make things worse.

The truth is, neurodivergent children experience the world differently. And when we try to parent them using strategies that don’t take their sensory needs, processing style, or emotional regulation into account, we can unintentionally fuel more meltdowns, shutdowns, and distress - both at home and at school.

Often, school systems place neurotypical expectations on our children, and when those expectations aren't met, the pressure and dysregulation build up. It’s usually us, as parents, who are left to hold the fallout - managing the anxiety, the overwhelm, the behaviour, and the heartbreak that comes with watching your child be misunderstood.

But here’s the good news: you don’t have to keep doing it that way.

When we stop trying to fit our families into someone else’s mould - and instead begin to build rhythms, routines, and responses that actually meet our children where they are - everything shifts. Home starts to feel calmer. Communication gets clearer. Relationships grow stronger. And life doesn’t just stop being hard - it starts becoming joyful.

This is the work we’ll do together. Not to fix your child, but to redesign your approach in a way that truly honours who they are, and who you are too.

If you are unsure about what you need or where to start, book a call to have an informal chat with Maisie:

Both ADHD and autism are highly heritable neurodevelopmental conditions, with genetic factors accounting for approximately

74–90% of their occurrence.

Hi, I’m Maisie — a neurodiversity consultant and family strategy specialist with over 20 years of experience supporting neurodivergent children and the people who care for them. I’ve worked across education, health, and social care, and I now specialise in helping families like yours feel more understood, more equipped, and more in control.

I hold a Level 7 qualification in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and I’ve designed award-winning CPD training on neurodiversity that’s used by professionals across the UK. But more than any qualification, what shapes my work most is this: I’m also a mum raising a neurodivergent family — and I’m an ADHDer myself.

I know first-hand how overwhelming things can feel when systems don’t understand your child. I also know how powerful it is when you finally feel heard, supported, and equipped with practical tools that actually work for your family.

That’s what this work is about. It’s not a “fix” or a quick behaviour chart. It’s about building something sustainable - together - so your child feels safe, your family feels calmer, and you feel more confident navigating whatever comes next.

You’re not doing this alone. I’m here to walk with you.
